ASA (Acrylonitirle Styrene Acrylate) 3D Printing Filament
ASA, also know as Acrylic Styrene Acrylonitrile, is a 3D printable plastic with properties similar to ABS. It is commonly used in outdoor applications instead of ABS due to its superior resistance to UV and harsh weather conditions. It also has high dimensional stability and good chemical resistance, making it ideal for prototyping, outdoor applications and the automotive industry. ASA also exhibits excellent mechanical and thermal properties.
- Manufactured in the USA using premium ASA resin. This material is a great substitute for normal ABS when resistance to outdoor exposure is needed.
- Manufactured from 100% virgin resin and then spooled onto 750 gram reels, the filament is then vacuum-sealed with desiccant.
- Made in 1.75mm and 2.85mm diameters, this filament will convert anyone who prints with normal ABS!
Recommended Print Conditions:
- Extruder Temp: 230-240°C
- Bed Temp: 80-110C C

Im so glad I found out about GL Robotics. With an ASA shortage and the only available easy to find ASA being overpriced, GL's ASA is a life saver. No issues with warp, nice matte finish, prints very cleanly and doesn't stink like alot of other brands. Will be buying GLs ASA exclusively.
This ASA seems to be very high quality. Great consistent extrusion, parts come out very nice with a pleasant matte finish. Odor isn't bad. No complaints! Prints great at 260/110 in an enclosure. I was even able to print a 4cm bridge! This stuff prints as easy as PLA but performs like ABS. Also very good customer service from GL robotics. Will be ordering again when my two spools run out, as I cannot seem to find black ASA anywhere else!
I tried the recommended settings and it works fine except thicker objects needed the parts fans to avoid sag. This isn't necessary with some ABS but this filament seems to retain more heat. Currently printing with hotend 240c, hotbed 100c, fan 20% with e3d plated copper block and nozzle. It is also less sensitive to moisture and needed less drying. I printed with the spool in a non humidity controlled enclosure for a month and the quality did not degrade noticeably over that span.
