Description

High Heat PLA 3D Printing Filament

High heat PLA made from Natureworks 3D850 PLA

GL Robotics's premium High Temp PLA Filament offers heat deflection superior to standard PLA.  Printed parts made from this PLA can be heat treated, which can obtain properties that exceed ABS.

Heat treat your 3D printed objects for increased resistance to heat-related deformation.  To achieve a heat treat on a printed part, submerge in water (or bake in oven) at 200F for up to 30 minutes.

- Manufactured in the USA using High Heat PLA resin. This material is a great substitute for normal PLA when greater heat resistance and impact strength is desired.

- Manufactured from 100% virgin resin and then spooled onto 1 kilogram reels, the filament is then vacuum-sealed with desiccant.

- Made in 1.75mm and 2.85mm diameters, this filament will convert anyone who prints with normal PLA!

Recommended Print Conditions:

  • Extruder Temp: 200-220°C
  • Bed Temp: 0-60 C

  • User-Friendly: PLA is one of the easiest filaments to print with, making it ideal for beginners and a reliable choice for experienced users.
  • Biodegradable & Eco-Friendly: Derived from renewable resources like corn starch, PLA is a more sustainable choice compared to petroleum-based plastics, offering a lower environmental impact.
  • Low Odor Printing: Enjoy a more pleasant printing experience with PLA's minimal and often sweet-smelling emissions, making it suitable for use in various environments.
  • Good Detail & Surface Finish: Achieve excellent print quality with PLA, known for its ability to capture fine details and produce smooth, aesthetically pleasing surfaces.
  • Wide Color Variety: Available in an extensive spectrum of vibrant colors, opaque and translucent options, allowing for creative freedom in your designs.
  • Versatile Applications: Perfect for concept modeling, educational projects, decorative items, cosplay props, low-stress mechanical parts, and much more.

Warnings and Advisories
  • Storage: Store PLA in a cool, dry place, ideally with desiccant, to prevent moisture absorption, which can degrade print quality.
  • Heat Resistance: While versatile, PLA has a lower heat deflection temperature compared to some other plastics, making it less suitable for high-temperature applications.

Recommended Starting Printing Settings
  • Nozzle Temperature (Recommended): Range: 190°C - 215°C (374°F - 419°F)
  • Heated Bed Temperature (Recommended): Range: 50°C - 60°C (122°F - 140°F)
  • Print Speed (Recommended): Range: 40mm/s - 600mm/s Starting Max: 600mm/s for general printing.

The above settings are general guidelines. The exact optimal settings can vary slightly depending on your specific 3D printer model, the brand of filament, and even environmental factors like room temperature. Always refer to any specific recommendations provided by the filament manufacturer on the spool or packaging.

  • Superior Heat Deflection: Significantly higher heat resistance than standard PLA, making it suitable for applications where regular PLA would deform.
  • Post-Print Heat Treatable (Annealable): Transform your printed parts by heat treating them to dramatically increase their resistance to heat-related deformation. This process can yield properties comparable to, or even surpassing, ABS.
  • Enhanced Strength & Impact Resistance: Beyond heat, prints from this PLA exhibit improved overall strength and durability, making them more robust for functional use.
  • Easy to Print: Maintains the user-friendly characteristics of standard PLA, making it accessible for a wide range of desktop FDM 3D printers.
  • Premium USA Manufacturing: Produced from 100% virgin, High Heat PLA resin in the USA, ensuring consistent quality, purity, and reliable performance.
  • Carefully Packaged: Each 1 kilogram reel is precisely spooled, then vacuum-sealed with desiccant to protect against moisture and maintain optimal filament condition.
  • Available in Standard Diameters: Offered in both 1.75mm and 2.85mm diameters to accommodate various 3D printers.
